Porsche Taycan, Macan and Panamera Options by VIN: The Codes That Matter
Porsche options add up quickly, and the same badge can hide very different cars. The option codes in the factory record show what a Taycan, Macan or Panamera really has.
Porsche Taycan: battery, heat pump and chassis
- J9K — high-voltage battery, 93 kWh gross
- J9I — high-voltage battery, 79 kWh gross
- 9M3 — heat pump
- 1BK — four-corner air suspension with electronically controlled damping
- 8LH — Sport Chrono Package Plus
In our Taycan records, 17 of 22 cars have the 93 kWh battery and 4 have the 79 kWh battery. The bigger battery gives more range, so check the code before you compare prices.
Porsche Macan: what to check
- 1BK — air suspension with levelling and height adjustment
- 8T3 — adaptive cruise control
- 4D3 — ventilated front seats
Porsche Panamera: sound systems
- 9VL — Bose Premium sound system
- 9VJ — Burmester High-End sound system
Same option, different code
Porsche codes depend on the model and generation. Sport Chrono Package Plus is QR5 on the first Macan (95B) and the Panamera 971, 8LH on the updated Macan (95B-2) and the Taycan, and 640 on older 911s. The code 9VL even changes meaning: on a Panamera 971 it is the Bose Premium sound system, while on a Macan or Cayenne it is sound package 2, the high-end sound system.
Decode your Porsche by VIN
Enter the 17-character VIN — on a Taycan or Panamera it starts with WP0, on a Macan with WP1 — and we return every option code with a plain description. For the 911 and Cayenne, see Porsche 911 and Cayenne option codes.
