Range Rover Options by VIN: What the Factory Record Shows

A Range Rover's factory record lists what the car was built with — and many things it was built without. Here's how to read it.

What a Range Rover build sheet shows

Every Range Rover — including the Range Rover Sport, Velar and Evoque — is built to a factory specification tied to its VIN. A decoded Land Rover build sheet lists each feature in plain words, together with the paint name and the plant that built the car, such as Solihull.

What to look for in the list

Which generation is it?

The record also names the model generation, such as the Range Rover Sport L494 (2014–2022), the new Range Rover L460 (from 2022) or the Velar L560 (from 2017). That helps when two cars look alike but belong to different generations.

Check a Range Rover by VIN

Ask the seller for the 17-character VIN — on a Range Rover it usually starts with SAL — and check it before you view the car. For the rest of the range, see Land Rover build sheet by VIN.
